The course is facilitated by two experienced members and trainers from the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers (APDO). The course is open to APDO members and non-members and is held virtually over two sessions.  It is an interactive, small group event with a maximum of 12 participants. We use discussion, small break-out room exercises, presentation slides, Q&A and personal reflection to help you discover the type of Professional Organising practice you would like to start and/or develop. You are not required to have set up your business yet to participate in this course.

The key topics covered include:

  • What Professional Declutterers and Organisers do and what types of clients they might work with
  • Ways to work with clients
  • Ways to manage specific client challenges
  • An introduction to setting up systems to manage your business and what to charge
  • Promoting your business to engage your first clients

When booking the course, you can choose to receive a welcome pack and workbook in the post, or a digital workbook sent via email to help you take notes and reflect on your learning. Whichever you choose, they will be sent to you in the week leading up to your course. We recommend that you are over the age of 18 to attend this course - there is no upper age limit!
