If You Want to Be A Winner, Change Your Motivation
10.15am – 11.30am, 10 May 2023 ‐ 1 hour 15 mins
Keynote
We live in a world that is constantly changing. Some of us choose to fight the change by remaining in our comfort zone and thus risking stagnation. Other people take a leap and embrace the change in the name of transformation. Between the difference in passivity and activity that underlies our human behaviour, all of us have the inherent desire to be happy and satisfied. That’s the ultimate goal. And so, the need for change is constant throughout life, as we seek new opportunities and aspire to achieve in different areas of our lives; personal growth, business transformation, a different career path, health improvement, relationships betterment, or any other aspects of life where we set goals in the hope of leading a better life. In order to bring an idea or goal to life we need a focused and determined mindset.
And that’s where our motivation plays a big role in helping us achieve our desires, dreams and aspirations. But do we always have the required level of motivation or do we know how motivation works so that we can use it to our advantage? Many different factors influence motivation, including our internal physiological states, our mindset that is influenced by our cognitions, the current social and lifestyle circumstances, as well as our past history and experiences.
Understanding what drives motivated behaviour in humans is a truly fascinating endeavour. We all struggle to stay motivated sometimes including the times when we find it really challenging to motivate other people. This session aims to give the audience valuable insights into the psychology of motivation and how to use motivation to our advantage.
The main learning objectives:
•What is motivation and how the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation drive our behaviour.
•The number one theory of motivation that help us gain a better understanding of the concept.
•What neuroscience says about the human motivation, how motivational behaviour is regulated by chemicals in our brain.
•Why we may start motivated but end up being demotivated; a lack of motivation, the real reasons people procrastinate.
•The most effective behavioural strategies to improve motivation in yourself and others, e.g. clients, partners, employees.

Increased revenues and profits and reduced stress.Delegates will hear stories and metaphors and do exercises to engage them emotionally and help their brains to learn and retain.
I will show them why them and so many small business owners struggle to market effectively. It’s not their fault. They’ve often been taught principles that don’t work for small businesses. Instead, I will teach them principles that do work for small businesses and I will share practical, actionable strategies to apply these principles. We will dive into the three money mindsets behind undercharging and overdelivering and do two exercises that will be both engaging and effective to help them shift their thinking and how they price their services. A lot of solo and small businesses got into business to do something they love. They’ve not been trained in how to run a business and I found my marketing qualification, business degree and years of experience working in a marketing agency didn’t help me much either until I learned differently. After this they will never look at their businesses the same way again.

The 4 day working week is coming. Clients are often overwhelmed with work which is why some need someone else to help with cleaning, childcare and decluttering. The pandemic changed the way we all work forever. But yet, we are still using old rules to win new games. For those with full-time jobs and doing this on the side it will massively support with creating boundaries and allowing space to do work that makes a difference, not just making us busy. Having a few more ‘professional’ type tips up their sleeves, organisers could also offer support to clients who are overwhelmed with work as well as support with their own businesses.
