Room to Think
United Kingdom

  • What would it be like to live in a home that feels more 'you'?
  • How would it feel to curate more of your identity in your home, whilst paying full attention to your wellbeing?
  • Would you like to be in touch with the things you want without the distraction of the things you don't?
  • How easy is it to find what to wear in the morning to look fabulous?
  • Would you like some practical help after the death, or separation from, someone close?

Everyone is entitled to room to think. I'm Caroline - I think in categories, have an eye for the aesthetic and a friendly, easy going manner. I'm insured, an APDO member for over 10 years and uphold the APDO code of ethics. I offer a confidential, non-judgmental, collaborative service in:

    • De-cluttering and organising
    • Online organising sessions (virtual organising)
    • Clothing
    • Bereavement and separation
    • Coaching and mentoring POs*
    • Positive psychology coaching*
  • *I have an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology & Coaching Psychology. I am an experienced coach, trained to hold a space and listen exquisitely with no agenda except yours.

K, London says:

  • 'On Sunday I had a lunch party, and my home was filled with friends, food and laughter again (something that had seemed so unattainable before I chanced upon your website, but had craved for so long). Last week I completed my Tax Return in record time, (because I knew where all my statements and accounts were), and my bedroom is clear, clean and welcoming for the first time in 6 years - so, who knows what the next few months may hold?
  • 'I hope that anyone who needs reassurance or that extra 'oompf' to pick up the phone, to start to make really positive changes in their life and de-clutter, however scary that may be, that they take the opportunity of working with you. You're a star, and I can't thank you enough, Caroline.'

Specialisms

ADHD
ADHD/ADD: I attended Sarah Bickers training on working with ADHD clients several years ago and have worked with many coaching and professional organising clients who have ADD, ADHD, dyspraxia, dyslexia and a range of other conditions/challenges including mental ill health. I have respect for - and awareness of - the varying characteristics and challenges faced by those living with ADHD/ADD diagnosed or not (including the endurance of the diagnosis journey). I will not present you with one size fits all solutions but will work closely and curiously with you to discover which strategies and solutions have worked previously and which could work in this current chapter of your life.

Life Coaching
Coaching: I trained to coach as part of an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology at UEL and have several hundred hours coaching experience. I am a positive psychology coach, which means I coach with attention to your wellbeing as well as your coaching goals. It also means that we work to your character strengths, and make use of them. Coaching is an opportunity to hear your thoughts out loud. It works well for people wanting to declutter their homes without physical help (virtual/online organising), as well as for people wanting to make changes (confidence, wellbeing, decisions re next chapter in life etc.). I'm trained to hold a space and listen to you with no agenda except yours.

Hoarding behaviour
I'm trained (Clouds End) in working with clients with hoarding behaviours, attend conferences on the topic and am conversant with the current academic literature. I regularly work with several clients rating at level 5-8 on the Clutter Image Rating Scale. I have an understanding and respect of the sense of not wanting to go on like this anymore at the same time as feeling unable to stop. Please contact me for a free consultation to discover if I'm the right person to invite into your home - whether that's in person or online. I provide a calm, gentle and kind service and we will find a way to work together that works for you.

Public Speaking
Public Speaking/Training: I'm a friendly, engaging, experienced workshop leader and speaker who delivers conference presentations (including key notes) all over the world and won a National Training Award way back in the 90s. I've published research on clutter and wellbeing and can speak approachably and accessibly on both topics as well as listening, resilience, mindfulness, meditation, compassion etc. I'm a proud member of the APDO training team, delivering Starting a Professional Organising Business, and developed APDO's new course Working with Clients: Exquisite Listening and Responding.

I wasn't keen on the idea of doing this online but actually it worked really well. It's been really good - and fun. I always feel really empowered by you. Thank you. A, Sussex
