The Happy Nest
United Kingdom

My name is Holly. I am a professional home organiser with a passion for helping people find peace, calm and order in their lives and their homes.

I have two children, two ducks, two dogs, but only one husband! Over the past 25 years, I have worked with dozens of families and in countless homes across the UK as a private nanny, maternity nurse, and household manager. From setting up nurseries for new parents to home staging for property sales to packing up houses and managing relocations, I have brought my love of organising and helping people – whether busy, stuck, or overwhelmed – to find balance and harmony in their lives.

I launched The Happy Nest to be both liberating and life-giving, to help people become more organised, realign their lives, and find more time for the things they love! Whether you’re burdened with clutter or your home could benefit from a complete reorganisation, please do get in touch for a free consultation to find out how I can help you find the calm amidst the chaos.

I am a proud member of the Association of Professional Declutterers & Organisers (APDO) and cover the Greater Cambridgeshire area.

Specialisms

Move Management

With three personal moves in the past decade, I understand the complex needs of relocating. I support clients in decluttering before a move, ensuring they bring only what’s meaningful and essential. My organised packing services streamline the unpacking process for a smooth transition into their new home. I tailor the setup to match the family’s lifestyle and space, offering storage solutions that integrate seamlessly.

For added convenience, I offer a white-glove service for packing personal items and can assist with house shutdowns on moving day.

Personal/family productivity

For over 25 years, I've worked with numerous families and in homes across the UK and USA, serving as a private nanny, maternity nurse, and household manager. From setting up nurseries for new parents to overseeing relocations, I’ve applied my passion for organisation and supporting others to help families find balance and harmony. I understand the daily demands of a busy household—working full-time while managing the complexities of family life, especially when my husband travelled often. This personal experience fuels my commitment to help others simplify and reduce stress.

Today, I bring this expertise to my clients, creating personalised solutions that make home life easier. Whether it’s organising paperwork, planning meals, or streamlining laundry routines, I’m here to help you reclaim time for what matters most.

Hoarding behaviour

Level 1 Hoarding Awareness Certified

I have completed Level 1 Virtual Hoarding Awareness training with Jo Cooke, which raised my understanding of hoarding as a mental health disorder. This training provided me with tools and techniques to better support those affected by hoarding behaviour, chronic disorganisation, and extreme clutter.

Having worked with multiple clients with hoarding disorder, I deeply understand the unique needs that require patience, empathy, and a tailored approach.

Each case is different, requiring a unique, individualised plan to address the specific challenges it presents.

The training covered a wide range of topics essential for supporting individuals and the communities around them, including:

* Understanding Hoarding Disorder: Triggers, contributing factors, and the impact of chronic disorganisation

* Visual Assessment and Multi-Agency Collaboration: Working effectively with environmental health, harm reduction, and other frontline services

* Practical Decluttering Techniques: Encouraging motivation, resilience, and the process of letting go

* Support Systems: Guidance on forming support groups, ethical dos and don’ts, and building emotional resilience

I support individuals, professionals, and families to make meaningful changes that positively affect their lives and benefit the broader community.

Anyone who is lucky enough to have Holly work for them is exceptionally fortunate. She has an incredible understanding and insight and sets herself very high standards in every task she undertakes.
Holly came to help me declutter my children's clothes before the birth of my third child. The aim was to sort through the mountains of clothes I'd hoarded from my two older children and all the hand-me-downs from friends I couldn't say no to. Over the course of three days, Holly calmly kept me on track as we looked at each piece of clothing individually to decide whether to keep, donate or recycle. Holly kept me focused without any stress or sense of hurry, asking gentle questions when needed such as how many of that particular thing did I need to help me decide on each item. We got through everything and a huge weight was lifted as the task was completed. Holly was calm and efficient and in good spirits at all times, which made such a large and overwhelming task that I couldn't have gotten through on my own, satisfying and enjoyable. I highly recommend Holly for any decluttering and organising project, primarily as she focuses on reusing existing storage rather than buying new products.
Holly is a highly professional and skilled organiser who is totally reliable and works with strong initiative. She is calm, confident, intuitive and caring. We loved having her work with our family.
