Are you feeling overwhelmed by stuff?
Has your home gone past your Clutter Tolerance Threshold?
Do cluttered surfaces make your home difficult to clean?
Are you an empty-nester, still surrounded by the accumulation of possessions that were once loved and necessary for family life, but now no longer needed?
Are you looking to move house or downsize, and feel unsure how to choose what to take with you?
Has a significant life event brought more items into your home than you can easily cope with?
I love to help people bring order out of chaos, to streamline possessions and to create lasting systems that ensure smooth running of the household.
I will work alongside you to identify your unique challenges and identify your goals, and will support you as we work at your pace to achieve a home you love.
I am based in Southampton and cover a roughly 30 mile radius of the city for hands-on help. I cover the whole of the UK for virtual support.
Do contact me for a free initial consultation and let's see how Smart Organising can bring clarity, freedom and peace.
My Background
Before founding Smart Organising I was a teacher for over 35 years in both Secondary and Primary settings. I am a qualified Specialist Teacher and Assessor for Students with Specific Learning Difficulties and am a member of PATOSS (The Professional Association for Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties).
I have many years' experience in supporting individuals with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Executive Function Difficulties, Attentional Difficulties, Processing Difficulties, AD(H)D and ASD. I have created and delivered courses for pre-university students covering: *learning and organising preferences *procrastination *motivation, confidence and concentration *mental well-being.
I now bring all these skills and experience to my work in helping people to declutter, edit and organise their living spaces. I also offer support in Productivity and Time/Task Management at home and in the workplace.
I have been a busy working mum, an empty nester, a carer, an executor and have been responsible for several relatives' moves, including from a non-English-speaking country. My story may not be the same as yours but I will respect your situation with compassion and confidentiality.
If circumstances make in-home visits difficult, I am happy to offer help over Zoom or other online platforms. These sessions can be either 'virtual hands-on' where we tackle a project 'together' or they can be opportunities to chat about problem areas and set realistic goals for you to work on between sessions. By maintaining some contact between sessions, I can offer advice, encouragement and celebration of your progress, big or small.
I look forward to hearing from you.

I found Susie's approach to decluttering immensely helpful. Her way of explaining is so clear that it creates a structure which reduced the stress of the decision-making for me in our house move.
Susie has helped me rethink my relationship with my 'things'. Our virtual sessions have enabled me to clear the chaos in my house and after all her support & encouragement I am now enjoying my home.
Susie has shown me how to let go of the past & focus on present & future needs. She has patience, understanding & an encouraging approach. I would recommend her to anyone. She is fantastic.
